Duvivier Canapé

Jules

The autumn of 2017 marks the collaboration of Duvivier Canapés brand with Charlotte JUILLARD. Selected by the company for its inventive and innovative approach of design, Charlotte embodies the new generation of French designers. The Jules range has a visible raised wooden structure that gives an overall ethereal appearance. This structure is directly inspired by the "tchanqué" cabins on the Ile aux Oiseaux, located on the Arcachon bay. From the sofa, one can imagine chilling on a veranda and letting the mind wander beyond the Dune du Pyla whose long sandy peak sits on the horizon. Marked by the beauty of this decor and the aesthetics of the cabins, Charlotte has transformed these qualities into a piece of elegant and timeless furniture for Maison Duvivier Canapés. Sensitive to materials nobility, Charlotte JUILLARD appreciates natural materials which age progressively.

She said about it "this gives an object an emotional charge and allows you to design pieces that you never tire of". Charlotte particularly likes to feel the craftsman’s handmade work, as emotion is often the essence of his work. For the first version of this sofa she chose to associate leather with fabric. The Maison Duvivier Canapés, often considered a leather expert, is known for the quality and work of its leather. With the introduction of fabrics, leather is magnified and enhanced. As a result of its association with fabric, it is perceived differently. By using small touches of leather within a design creates a renewed bias. This bi-material blend gives furniture character. This encounter, with the play of colours and textures, presents this sofa with a different line and an infinity of combinations, as the Maison Duvivier Canapés knows how to bring it to reality.
